New Years Eve Long Weekend Itinerary
THE NEW YEARS EVE LONG WEEKEND ITINERARY
Farewell 2017 and celebrate the coming of the new year Yoga Cucina-style! Escape the city for three days and nights of Italian food and wine, body-rocking yoga, bush adventures and specially curated tasting a la vino with John Blackwood of Hobart's First Wednesday wine club.
What have we cooked up? Here's a taste...
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2017 – THE ARRIVAL
The Arrival: Shake off the dust of the road and get yourself bendy in a pre-festa yoga flow.
Festa di Famiglia: Shimmy up to the table for a relaxed family feast. Keep it easy, keep it breezy – save your big moves for tomorrow night.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2017 – NEW YEARS EVE
Body Movin': Let your spine unwind in a crush groovin’ two hour yoga practice with juicy hands-on assists.
The Morning After: Rinse off and muscle up to the table to refuel your mind and body with a big ol' brunch.
Idle Hands: Throw a ball around the volleyball court, catch some air on the BMX track, curl up with a book, lay under a tree or watch the clouds, or hang by the pool. Your time, your rules.
Stems Up: As the tastiest stock is built from the bones up, the lightest yoga practice comes from solid roots. Hands down, feet up.
Sip It Good: Dress up smart and join John Blackwood, of Hobart's First Wednesday Wine Club, for a matched pairing of Australian and Old World wines.
Aperitivo: Classic Italian style pre-celebration drinks and antipasto.
Cenone dell'ultimo: A New Years Eve feast to end all feasts, carved and charred from the seasons best and paired with local and international wines.
MONDAY, JANUARY 1, 2018 – THE DAY AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE
Smooth Rider: Slide into the very first day of the year with a cruisy dose of chill flow.
Where the bloody hell are ya?: Mosey outside for a recovery brunch.
Wake it up/Lay it down: Slide into your sneakers and head out into the cool green of the national park or make like a caterpillar and cocoon in your doona (naps).
Softly, softly: "Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as bird wings.” – Rumi. Glide through gentle flow and soothing yoga nidra with Aly.
Sticky Fingers: Roll up your sleeves and do your Nonna proud in a hands-on cooking class with Marco and Luca, followed by our final rolling repast.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2018 – HIT THE ROAD
Cereal Killers: “If you’re gonna dine with them cannibals. Sooner or later, darling, you’re gonna get eaten.” – Nick Cave, Cannibal’s Hymn. But not today. Shake yourself loose in a final yoga practice, pop some fresh brekkie treats in your pockets and make your escape.
